As DeKalb County State’s Attorney, I will uphold the long history of excellence associated with the office and use all tools available to protect and serve the people of DeKalb County.

In the courtroom I will:

• Always act with understanding and compassion for the victims of crime.
• Strive to minimize the time between arrest to trial.
• Pursue longer sentences for violent criminals so that the punishment fits the crime.
• Make judicious use of deferment programs for non-violent first-time offenders.
• Utilize specialty courts to address substance abuse and mental health issues.
• Maintain an open line of communication with law enforcement across DeKalb County.

In my role as legal advisor to the County Board I will:

• Advise the County Board on all legal matters.
• Ensure that the County officials are kept abreast of new laws that impact operations.
• Diligently represent DeKalb County in legal actions brought against the county.
• Represent the county in legal actions intended to protect taxpayer dollars.
• Promote legislation that protects the public and keeps communities safer.
